"Belief... that's what you have, Taesoo."
Apollo smirked.
Belief. It was something intrinsic, existing within the domain of the mind.
Apollo knew he didn't want to place all his faith in his fist; he had a far more complex fighting style than Taesoo.
But his body was another matter.
This body… I shall never go down with it. Apollo had finally decided on the path he would take.
The world of Lookism was governed by a few principles: The way to grow strong is to find your own path. Merely copying someone would only make you a shadow, a lesser version of the original.
And Apollo had found his own path—not to mimic, but to take inspiration and make it his own.
The punch landed with the force of a crashing wave. But the body it struck was like a mountain—unshaken, firmly grounded.
Apollo's eyes glowed for a second, but they quickly dimmed. The punch had made him skid across the ground. His stance remained solid. A deep purple bruise formed where the blow had landed on his chest.
Yet Apollo wasn't down. He shifted into another stance.
"Come on, Taesoo. The fight isn't over."
This was difficult, Apollo thought as he adjusted his stance to alleviate the pain. He had just begun his path, but he was leagues behind Taesoo, who was already deep into his own journey.
Both men rushed at each other. Apollo ducked beneath Taesoo's punch, but Taesoo adjusted the trajectory at the last second.
Using the power of his legs, Apollo leaped into the air to avoid the punch.
Axe kick.
Being high up in the air made it the perfect moment for an axe kick. His foot landed squarely on Taesoo's hand.
Yes.
Somewhere in the middle of the fight, Taesoo had deployed both hands—not to attack, but to defend.
His crew watched, stunned. They had never seen Taesoo use his left hand—not even for defense.
How strong is Apollo? That thought consumed everyone.
Not only had Apollo survived, but he was also forcing Taesoo to fight harder. It was something they would only expect from kings of other regions.
Diku, still wrapped in bandages from their previous encounter, had joined the group. He watched the fight in horror.
Had Apollo gone all out against me… What would have happened to me? He nervously hid among the crew.
One thing was clear to all of them: Apollo was a monster.
Meanwhile, on the battlefield…
Apollo dodged yet another attack, landing precise kicks to Taesoo's face. His precision had only improved as the fight progressed.
His kicks had become stronger, faster, and more unpredictable—his belief in his body was working in full force.
But Taesoo wasn't far behind. His punches grew quicker, and more importantly, stronger.
Some of Taesoo's blows cracked the ground beneath them, making the terrain uneven for both fighters.
His body was marked by the numerous kicks he'd absorbed from Apollo, while Apollo struggled with the bruises Taesoo had inflicted.
Both men grinned as they fought on, pushing each other beyond their limits. It was the kind of battle one only dreams of.
Apollo's resolve seemed to grow stronger with each strike. Dodging another punch, he attempted a back kick on Taesoo, but Taesoo slammed his fist into the ground, sending shockwaves through the battlefield.
Both men skidded back a few meters. Apollo managed a pained smirk.
"Ready to discuss my plan now, Taesoo?"
Taesoo, the King of Ansan, wasn't doing much better. Known for his raw power, his endurance wasn't enough to withstand so many punishing blows from Apollo.
He hits harder than last time, Taesoo thought. Last time, I barely had to try, and even then it was easy. But now...
Now Apollo was his equal, and that earned Taesoo's respect.
"Tell me everything."

.
.
The schoolyard was nearly empty. The crowd that had gathered had dispersed. Only Taesoo's gang and Apollo remained.
Sitting on a table, Apollo stared at Taesoo with his reverse eyes.
"That... isn't a bad idea," Taesoo said, considering the implications of the Bully System.
The name was a bit cheesy, but the concept was sound. The Bully System involved selecting a leader for each school. These heads would use their influence to collect protection fees from the students. Anyone who couldn't pay would be subjected to bullying.
However, it was strictly forbidden to bully someone who had paid their share.
The heads would collect the money and give it to Apollo and Taesoo. With multiple schools in the area, the plan was solid.
Considering I need a way to make money… this is the best opportunity, Taesoo thought.
He extended his hand toward Apollo. "You have my word. Let's execute this plan."
The black-eyed menace shook his hand.
"I guess it's time for me to take my leave." Apollo stood up. He hadn't told Hansu he wouldn't be coming back, and it was best he left quickly. Otherwise, he knew how ruthless his teacher could be.
Skidd.
Skidd.
Apollo turned his head at the sound of tires screeching. Outside the school gates, a sleek black limousine had parked. Several SUVs surrounded the car, and a swarm of men stepped out, guarding the area.
Apollo glanced back at Taesoo. "Do you know anything about this?"
Taesoo shook his head, signaling his ignorance.
Apollo had a hunch about the man in the black car. No way Charles Choi is already this rich… he must still be in prison, I think.
The gates opened, and Apollo's eyes widened in shock. A man dressed in a coat with black-and-white stripes and a white muffler around his neck stepped out. His eyes scanned the field, stopping when they locked with Apollo's.
Gapryong Kim had entered.
