I saved the file I was working on to my system, and hurriedly shut it down when I realized how far into the night I had worked.
I rushed out of my office, and locked it after grabbing my bag and switching off all electrical gadgets. Then I headed rather unwillingly for the CEO's corner, in search of Nicole.
It was indeed strange how jealousy could make complete strangers out of two best friends. I could no longer stand Nicole, with whom I used to enjoy spending time. Going to the CEO's corner was only to increase my chances of running into Leonard and completing what we started weeks ago, Nicole was only an excuse to be seen there.
As I neared the CEO's corner, I began to wonder why Nicole did not come to me instead, and decided within me to leave her behind if she is caught up with work, not that I enjoy sharing a ride with her anymore or doing anything with her. Did she not talk about moving out this morning, I suddenly remembered, and my face curled up in a sneer.
