Day 55: The Festival

The Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) finally arrived, and despite their initial worries, everyone in the group received praise from their parents for their hard work and good results. To celebrate, they decided to visit a nearby temple festival, where the air was filled with the sounds of laughter, music, and the smell of delicious food.

As they wandered through the festival, they played competitive games, trying their luck at various stalls, and sampled all sorts of street food. The group had a great time teasing Sam and Lily, who were now openly holding hands as they walked, much to everyone's amusement.

"Hey, lovebirds, can you two not hog all the romance here?" Kiddy joked, earning laughter from the rest of the group.

Sam just grinned, unbothered by the teasing. "What can I say? We're setting the standard."

Lily playfully rolled her eyes, but she didn't let go of Sam's hand. The atmosphere was light and full of joy.

As the night went on, the group was busy enjoying a ring-toss game when they suddenly realized that Ammy was no longer with them. Panic quickly set in as they looked around, trying to spot her in the crowd.

"Where's Ammy?" Mando asked, his voice tinged with worry.

"She was right here a minute ago," Harry said, scanning the area. "She must've wandered off."

Without wasting any time, the group split up to search for her. Kiddy navigated through the bustling crowd, calling out her name. Finally, after a few minutes, he spotted her sitting in a corner near the edge of the festival grounds, her face twisted in pain.

"Ammy!" Kiddy rushed over to her, kneeling down beside her. "Are you okay? What happened?"

Ammy looked up at him, her usual spark of humor dulled by discomfort. "I fell down the stairs... twisted my ankle. It hurts to walk."

"Why didn't you call out for help?", asked Kiddy.

"I didn't want to cause a fuss," she muttered, wincing as she shifted her leg.

Kiddy shook his head, then stood up. "Well, I'm not leaving you here. Come on." Before she could protest, he gently lifted her onto his back, giving her a piggyback ride.

Ammy's initial reluctance melted away as she realized she didn't have much of a choice.Feeling a mix of anger and embarrassment, she said "GET ME OFF YOUR BACK YOU IDIOT!!"

"Shut up." he replied, unfazed by what she said, focusing on getting her home safely.

He told his friends that he is going to take Ammy her home and to go home safely. They nodded and said "take care".

When they finally arrived at Ammy's house, her mother greeted them at the door. Upon seeing her daughter's condition, she immediately ushered them inside, fussing over Ammy's ankle. After making sure Ammy was comfortable, she turned to Kiddy with a warm smile.

"Thank you for taking care of her, Kiddy. You've always been a good friend to Ammy." She then handed him a small locket. "I don't have something right now to thank you for your help. So please accept this, a token of our appreciation."

Kiddy was taken aback by the gesture. He looked at the locket, then back at Ammy's mother. "Thank you, Mrs. Edwards. I'll treasure it."

With a final nod, Kiddy said his goodbyes and left the house, feeling a sense of fulfillment. As he walked home, he glanced down at the locket in his hand, thinking (This looks really cool , a moon as a pendant, I like it.)
