"Why are there girls in our dorm" every other student thought. It was a rarity for girls to be work students.
"My name is Xiao Wu" said the girl in the pink outfit. Everyone nodded lightly and looked st the white haired girl, expecting her to introduce herself too but her face flushed and she hid behind Xiao Wu.
Xiao Wu couldn't help but sigh "This is Ying Xuan." After this, the white haired girl peaked out from behind Xiao Wu.
Ying Xuan looked at Liu Yan. Liu Yan suddenly felt slight attraction to Ying Xuan… no, it wasn't physical attraction. It seemed to be his martial soul responding to hers, though it was small part of his martial soul only.
"So, whoever is the strongest is the boss right?" Xiao Wu said while smiling, ready to fight whoever is the current boss.
Everyone nodded and looked at Tang San who reluctantly stepped forward. "My name is Tang San. I'm the current boss." he explained before standing ready to fight.
"Heh, alright. Be prepared." Xiao Wu said before leaping forward and kicking at Tang San. Each of her kicks were very strong, needing Tang San to use soul power enforced punches to be at a stalemate.
It was hard to find a crack in her constant attacks, Tang San decided to use another technique learnt from Tang Sect-Empyrean Arcs, Shadow Track. Tang San, to everyone suddenly appeared behind Xiao Wu.

Tang San punched Xiao Wu in the gut, but it was too quick and he was unable to apply mystic hands and soul power into it. Xiao Wu getting a bit angry, purposefully kicked him in a way so that Tang San would take advantage and grab her leg. "Flexible Bones" was the technique Xiao Wu had, she suddenly became more nimble and as if she had rubber bones, slid by Tang San's grasp and kicked him in the gut, getting back at him and sending him flying to the door.
Thud
Tang San hit the door hard and almost fainted.
"I guess I'm the boss now. You guys will call me Sister Xiao Wu" Xiao Wu said while grinning. Everyone in the room except Ying Xuan, Tang San, Liu Yan and Fu Tian chanted "Sister Xiao Wu". Tang San slowly got up from the floor.
Knock knock
A worker of the academy opened the door, carrying three different blankets and bed sheets. "Tang San, Liu Yan, Fu Tian. Come here." The three approached immediately after hearing their names get called. "These are the blankets and bedsheets Grandmaster has prepared for you." the worker said before handing them the blankets.
Liu Yan went to set up his blanket and bedsheet. Same goes to Tang San. Fu Tian decided to simply lay down the bed sheet, not bothering to make it tight and jumping on the bed, ready to sleep again.
Xiao Wu looked around, seeing that she herself had no bed sheets and blankets. So she looked around, some of the students offered her their bed sheets but she refused. She saw Tang San, Liu Yan and Fu Tian's were the cleanest.
She didn't want to share with Fu Tian, he seemed to not care about tidiness at all, sleeping sprawled out on his unmade bed sheet and blanket.
She decided to go with Tang San, his had a pattern that she liked more so she went up to Tang San. "Tang San, from today onwards, you and me are going to share this bedsheet."
"Huh? but this is... you're a girl and I'm a boy. We shouldn't sleep together" said Tang San, rejecting the idea. "I'm a girl and I'm not scared, so why are you? This bedsheet is big enough for two beds." she said before looking at the bed beside Tang San. The student who originally chose the spot moved away immediately. Xiao Wu pushed the bed up to Tang San's one before throwing her big pouch onto the middle. "There, that will be our border. If you cross it, bad thing swill happen, got it?" Xiao Wu said while smiling, threatening smile. "... Alright" Tang San couldn't help but sigh at this revelation.
Suddenly, Ying Xuan spoke up "X-Xiao Wu, where will I sleep?". Xiao Wu turned around, she had almost forgotten she brought a friend here too. "Erm..."
Xiao Wu had no answer, trying to think of a solution.
Ying Xuan seemed hesitant on something before walking to Liu Yan, tapping him on the shoulder while blushing. "C-could we share the bed sheet?"
Liu Yan was startled, why was he sharing a bed sheet with a girl like Tang San sharing a bed sheet with Xiao Wu.
"Uhh, sure" before Liu Yan could fully think about how to answer, he automatically accepted.
"Thanks" Ying Xuan looked down while fidgeting her outfit with her fingers.
Liu Yan, looking at Ying Xuan's small physique knew she was incapable of moving the bed herself so he went to the free bed next to his and moved it for her.
After everything settled down, everyone was chatting with each other. Fu Tian sleeping, Tang San was being bothered by Xiao Wu.
Liu Yan however sat on his bed confused... "Don't transmigrators usually get the system by now? or some sort of quest? Why am I not getting any..." he was utterly confused.
"System on! System power up! System show!" he tried different chants in his head but nothing popped up, no sound at all.
"Don't tell me I don't have a system?!" Liu Yan was thunderstruck as that thought came to his mind. The system was one of the most important things when it comes to making transmigrators strong in their stories. Why was he so unlucky.
"Why must fate do this to me!!" Liu Yan screamed inwardly. "I guess I actually just have to rely on my own hard work again." suddenly, he felt a tap on his shoulders.
He turned around and saw Ying Xuan looking at him, her curious, blue eyes staring right at him. Even though his body was of a child, he was still technically a young adult in his past life, his heart couldn't help but skip a beat at the adorable face in front of him.
"Your name is... Liu Yan, right?" she asked. "Yes, that's my name..." he respawned calmly.
"May I know... what is your martial soul?" she asked with curiosity.
"Oh, my martial soul is called Crystalline Glory, crystal gauntlets basically." he explained, wondering why she was asking this.
"That explains this feeling... my martial soul is crystal phoenix... since both our martial souls are crystal related..." she said before suddenly stopping and blushing slightly.
"You felt our martial souls attracting to each other?" he guessed and she nodded.
They sat there awkwardly, not knowing how to continue conversing before she slowly sat back on her bed facing forward, avoiding eye contact.
At night, after lights were off, everyone was sound asleep. Liu Yan laid awake... he raised his hand into the sky as if trying to grab something. "Never mind the system, if i don't have one then screw it. No matter what, I will get strong by myself and correct the mistakes in this world!" Liu Yan was determined... determined to change Soul Land's future for the better.
