Chapter 9 - A NEW CLAN MEMBER

Yula's POV

"I will kill him with my bare hands!" Sungmin said in between heavy breaths, and immediately sped off.

"Go after him, don't let him get himself killed!" I said to Jiah. She hesitated first before running after him.

Jiah's POV

"You cannot do this, do you want to get your heart ripped out of your chest?" I asked, trying to make him see reasons with me.

"Leave me! I am tired of living in fear of one fool who thinks he is God!" I held him in one spot with my powers. It was as if I magnetized him in one spot. His legs raced furiously, yet his body stayed rooted to the spot.

"I am sorry I have to do this!" I said to him, still keeping him on the spot, and the next minute—an unbearable pain ran in my head. I haven't mastered keeping a person in a spot; it was my first time trying that out. I soon realized that Sungmin was the one who manipulated my head just to get back at me. I fell to the ground immediately—my magnetic pause cutting off blatantly. I could barely stand on my feet. Sung-min had already fled. I felt Yula trying to mind-link me, but I couldn't connect; my head was in so much pain.

Yula's POV

I knew we were about to get into trouble. I rushed out, wandering around aimlessly. Then I saw it sitting in the sky, a large star that was partly covered in clouds. But it was gone in less than a second. Did I see that, or did it just play in my head because of what Jiah and Sungmin explained to me earlier about the star? Just as I was deep in my thoughts, Jiah rushed back. She didn't look okay, so there was no need for me to ask.

"We have to leave," she said, sounding serious.

"Release the wolf from Guyong's pack, we have to find a better hideout. Sungmin is about to mess things up for us."

"What do you mean?" I asked, but she did not respond. I watched her rush to break the chains off the wolf. She broke the one used to chain her to a very solid iron, an iron that could hold any of the strongest of wolves, but she didn't break the chains on her hands and legs. As we were plotting an escape route, we heard a loud growl in the air. It seemed like it came from a very far distance. And then we heard that strange sound. We looked up to the cloud to see — a small star was yanked from the sky, dropping with a heavy force. We looked at each other accidentally, my eyes already teary.

"He never listens!" I muttered.

The wolf from Guyong's pack that Jiah dragged angrily behind her was completely weak. She had not eaten or drank since we held her captive.

"I don't think she has the strength to run," I said, observing the level of her weakness. I saw on Jiah's face that she felt the gap — Sungmin. He was the only one who could run with any wolf. Jiah wasn't good at that at all. We didn't know how we would go about it, but if Sungmin were here, he, Jiah, and the wolf from Guyong's pack would first move while I remained, and then he would return to take me.

As we were there doing nothing in the real sense, Sungmin appeared, taking us by our breath. He had no scratch, but he did not come alone. He came with an Omega from Guyong's pack. Jiah landed him a slap first. I felt that was a feeble attempt. She should have slashed through his face. Or did she miss acting like a human? I didn't want to even stand to look him in the face! He fucked up!

He tried to relax his nerves. He didn't expect the slap.

"I know you all have every right to be mad at me," he started, and I cut him off.

"You are not worth being here. Leave!" I yelled my lungs into the air. He couldn't say more. I saw that he wanted to walk away, but something kept pulling him back, telling him that he belonged here. The Omega that he brought from Guyong's pack was quiet, filming the surprising scene that was displayed in front of him with his eyes.

"Allow me to hug my daughter!" he said to us. Our eyes widened. How could he do this to us? Perhaps he didn't know that he was bringing in the father of the wolf we have held captive for days without food or water?

"Why did you bring in a traitor?" I mind-linked him.

"He is not!" he replied. Jiah was just confused and short of words. She watched as the wolf hugged his daughter.

"I didn't know you guys were so heartless," he said, and I gave a stern look at Sungmin. What did he mean by that? I just hope this ends well for us!

"Take them to the isolated room and chain them fiercely," she said, cutting in and changing the mood. Sung-min, whom she spoke to, didn't move an inch from where he stood. The new wolf from Guyong's pack looked at us with shock.

"He did not bring me here for this! You can not chain my daughter for days without food or water and still chain me!"

"Father," she called with a weak voice. "Leave them!"

"What did my daughter ever do to deserve this?" he asked again, and just before we knew it, Jiah grabbed the weak wolf by her chains and the other by his neck and took them away to the isolated room. Sungmin wanted to stop her, but I dared him not to in a mind-link even before he took a step.

Jiah returned, looking worried.

"Why did you bring a wolf from his pack here?" Jiah asked angrily.

"He is one of us now!" my eyes widened at his statement.

"Says who?" she asked, almost transforming. I knew things were about to get rough.

"Can we just stop this!" I yelled, standing in their middle. Sungmin didn't look like he was going to fight Jiah, but Jiah was just about to lose it.

"We have to figure out a way forward and not fight and argue with each other."

Sungmin fell back on the couch, rubbing his head with his hand. He tried to calm his nerves again.

"You know I can't get into a fight with you. I can't fight my mate. The woman my heart beats for."

"Then what did you go to do in Guyong's territory, and how did you even get into his territory?" she said almost immediately, ignoring the love he professed to her. She was too serious to reply to that.

"I didn't enter his territory. But I killed one of his Omegas," he replied, and I remembered the falling star.

"Oh!" I exclaimed. Ji-ah paused for a minute; something ran through her mind.

That night, we came out to observe the stars, and then I saw, in a flash, a large star again, partly covered in clouds.

"Did you guys see that?" I asked, and they confirmed that they had also seen the star.

"I think the star is trying to pass a message across to us."

"Yula, how many hours do we have left to find the boy?" Jiah asked, looking at me.

"Six hours," I said.

"There's no time!"

"Look what I got!" Sungmin said, showing us something in his hand. It was a stone like a diamond. Some parts of it were stone and some parts were diamond.

"It just looks so admirable!" he said. Something pricked me again, but I couldn't relate clearly.

"It should help us find the boy!" Sungmin said.

"But what about the star? We need to get back our guiding star before we can find the boy — that's what Hayan said, remember?" her brow arching.

"So where…" Sungmin said, but Jiah cut in, sniffing something unusual.

"An enemy is here," she said, her eyes already turning silver, Sungmin's grey and mine remained neutral.

They growled fiercely, calling out the wolf. And truly, they came out with green eyes, their claws looking poisonous. We formed a defense circle. Jiah and Sungmin were already transformed, but I wasn't. They threw sharp claws at each other. Jiah sustained a minor scratch, but Sungmin didn't. I didn't just observe them in fear; I was forcing my way into their heads, and yes! I finally did, and the wolves began to fight each other. The male wolf jumped on the female and dug out her throat with his fangs. When he was sure that she was dead, he tried to run, but Jiah quickly got a hold of him and tore his chest into shreds. He was already weak from the mess I made in his head. We let out heavy breaths, hearing the cry of two stars in the sky as they dimmed, signaling the wolves that two lives had ended.
