A week passed since the Trial. The wounds had healed. But the questions hadn't.
Kael often sat alone at night, replaying the vision — the chained figure beneath the sea.It wasn't just a nightmare. It was a message.
And it wasn't meant for anyone else… but him.
⚔️ Combat Class Begins
The sky over Ashfield crackled with strange lightning as Commander Virel stood before Unit B6.
"Today, weapons activate for the first time. Controlled environment. Low threat level. If you die, it's your fault."
Benny raised his hand.
"Can we… like, pre-die? To skip the part where we actually die?"
Virel ignored him.As always.
One by one, recruits summoned their weapons.
Mikaho's Soulthread Bow shimmered with blue flames.Kael's Hellbind Chain spun around his arm like a living beast.
Just as they were about to begin sparring…
A loud clang echoed through the field.Everyone turned.
🚪A Late Arrival
The academy's side gates opened — something that almost never happened. A boy stepped through, soaked from the rain.
He looked about 14, one year older than the rest, taller, sharper. He wore no uniform. Just a black jacket with scorched sleeves… and strapped to his back was something strange:
A piece of burning parchment, nailed into a steel plate.
The fire didn't consume it. It burned endlessly.
"Who the hell is that?" Kael muttered.
"New transfer," Virel said flatly. "Special permission from the Eastern Sector."
The boy walked forward without acknowledging anyone. His eyes flicked across Kael… then Mikaho. And for a split second, he paused.
He smirked.
"So this is B6?" he said. "Cute. Let's see if the rumors are exaggerated."
"Name?" Virel asked.
"Zehr."
Just Zehr.
🧭 A Different Kind of Power
The class began. Pairs were formed.
Kael was matched against Mikaho.Zehr was left… unpaired.
"I'll go solo," he said. "Or, fight the instructor. Whichever's harder."
He threw off his jacket.
The burning map on his back flared — revealing demon hunting routes, sacred ruins, and forbidden zones drawn in glowing ink. It moved like a living scroll.
Everyone stepped back.
"His weapon… is a map?" Benny whispered. "What's next? A killer compass?"
Virel narrowed his eyes.
"That's not just a map. That's the Seeker's Relic."
Mikaho's eyes widened.
"Those are said to lead to… Demon Thrones."
Kael said nothing. But inside, something twisted.
Zehr's power wasn't normal. And neither was his interest in Kael.
🌀 That Night
Kael sat on the dorm roof again, but this time… Zehr appeared beside him.
Uninvited.
"So. You're the one the island chose.""The boy with the chain. The stormwalker."
Kael looked at him, guarded.
"And you're the transfer kid who thinks he's cool."
Zehr chuckled.
"We'll get along just fine."
"Unless I find out what you're really looking for."
Zehr smiled without warmth.
"That's the fun part, Kael. Even I don't know yet."
Lightning struck the horizon.
Far away… the sea groaned again.
