Once upon a time, many centuries ago the north and south were one, were at peace were off equal. Crescent fall was swarm with so many mythical creatures, from those of whom were rare and exotic in nature.
They all lived in harmony till one day seven sons of sin came to dwell in crescent fall. They demanded respect, power....they wanted to be treated like gods, to be at the top of the food chain.
But Grant Raymond did not concede to the injustice, he was a werewolf, alpha to the moon lake park. He seeked justice for all supernaturals, but the vampires together with mythical beast did not agree and so there was war. These went on for two years, the younglings leaving in fear and hunger until a witch created an emerald dagger a poison to the royals; the seven sons. A dagger to the heart spreads the poison much faster killing the person from the inside and Grant raymond did just that. The vampires and beast were outraged for killing their masters and so there was blood shed all over the land.
The people couldn't continue to live like this, and so with the help of a fairy and a witch they conjured a spell to keep the vampires and beast locked away which resulted to the division of crescent fall into north and south gate. And everyone was happy except for the vampires and beast of course.
This was one of the history stories they thought them despite humans coexisting. It wasn't strange at all, since humans hardly believe such and take it as a normal history lesson for entertainment.
"Is it just me or the history of crescent fall sounds like a children fairytale story", said liv, a short red head with blue eyes. A flora fairy.
"That's because everything sounds childish to you liv", said hannah, a witch of the starlight coven. A natural blonde with hazel eyes but dyed her hair a baby pink a short bob.
"No liv is right, everytime I read the history it doesn't make any sense like something is missing a really big loophole", said cleo a werewolf, the brunette pursed her lips and furrowed her eyebrows in concentration as her brown eyes kept reading the text. They were having history now but the teacher was no where to be seen, giving them free period.
"I doubt that, maybe they just wrote it like for us kids to understand our history", said Mari a werewolf too, and also a brunette and brown eyed like cleo.
Cleo scoffed "kids, were teenagers for crying out loud, there is no way in hell that we keep reading the same text since kindergarten, is like there trying to force us to believe it, if it's true tell me why there isn't an alternative text similar to this one, why is it the same grammar they use"
Mari felt some truth to her words why isn't there an alternative text, like the bible the humans read, they are different but most of them say the same thing but in a different way. Why then is crescent fall history the same in every scrolls and books.
"Don't argue over something that's not true, mythological history tends to be false, is just to keep the class entertained since history is boring", said Alex a human, the raven haired with green eyes was typing furiously on her phone. The four supernaturals shared a look before turning their attention to the human.
Despite them being friends for over ten years, the girls couldn't come clean to tell Alex about their secret. They were scared she will freak out much worse rat them out. Crescent fall was only for supernaturals before humans invaded there town to seek shelter after a ship reck that happened in the sea surrounding their town. Together they coexist and lived with one another, the humans brought technology and the internet and helped them in various aspects. With time the supernaturals learned to keep their identity a secret. It was much harder on fairies since they weren't vampires who could retract their wings, but after learning from a young age and drinking a potion made from the witches coven, they learnt to hide their wings.
But even with that they are still some humans who suspect that unnatural activities happen in the town.
"What if it's real, you know werewolves, vampires and all that", said liv making hannah to jab her at the ribs "oof..hannah", liv whined In pain massaging her sides
Alex rose her head to the two and her eyes were lit up with amusement "even if they are real, their history doesn't make any sense, I haven't heard or read text about how they came to be"
Alex was wrong and right at the same time but that's a logic explanation from a human, Mari thought. The two of them have been friends longer than the rest of the three, so it causes her guilt that she could tell Alex her problems but can't tell her who she really is.
"And also don't believe everything you read about history, is a myth for a reason just fiction but you can believe political history at least that's 95% true", Alex finished, her eyes still glued to her screen
There was an eerie silence for a moment, each girl occupied with her own thoughts and sneaking glances at Alex they couldn't tell her she was wrong without revealing their secret so they just nodded in approval.
"Hey girls, hey Alex", said jason the soon to be Alpha of moon park, blonde hair with sea-green eyes, chiseled jaw and well defined muscles, he was the definition of gorgeous. Every girl in crescent high swoon over him and it was even more so among the shewolves each wishing that he would be their mate.
But even with that everyone in crescent high new that despite his stone cold expression, flings and one night stands his eyes would always be on Alex. Despite being a human the raven head was suspiciously beautiful, too beautiful like a goddess, it always made Mari wonder how a girl could be this beautiful, she have heard her grand mother talking about how beautiful vampires are, but the last vampire to be seen in Crescent fall was in 1752 before they publicly executed them. But that's not the only reason Mari finds Alex strangely weird despite being beautiful is her immune to cold weather, she had read that vampires are naturally cold and hardly get sick but Mari couldn't just understand Alex even though they've known each other since they were five.
In Crescent fall, it's mostly raining or snowing, sometimes a blizzard during the end of the year. Before the humans invaded crescent fall they counted their year when the snow starts to melt and flowers and trees starts to bloom and ended their year with a blizzard. But ever since the invasion, and the development of technology and machines at the far south, the area started having more sunshine. But right now, since Crescent high was close to the north gate, there was serious cold and every student was either seen with a thick jacket or coat except Alex who just casually on a sweatshirt and joggers, she always brought jacket to school but as always she gave it to her. Mari smiled at that, Alex only wore the jacket for fashion and nothing else, it still confused her and others too how she wasn't affected whereas even the warmth from her wolf couldn't keep her from shivering.
"What now jason", Alex frowned not bothering to look up from her phone
"Well um...", Jason stuttered nervously scratching the back of his head making the rest of the girls giggle lightly.
Despite being a highly respected alpha, Jason was always a nervous wrack when it comes to Alex cause she wasn't like one of those girls who swoon over him, she was really disinterested in him and it showed, which made girls to be more envious of her, some called her selfish for making the poor guy chase after her since kindergarten and playing hard to get just because she's pretty, while some wish they were in her shoes.
But Mari knew her best friend very well and also knows that Alex doesn't look at him like that, even the guys who were pinning on her in middle school gave up after she friend zoned them well..except for Jason.
Mari have talked to her to give him a chance and stop punishing the poor guy, except her reply was 'if I give him a chance to date me and then he falls in love with but I don't, I do not want to break his heart because of that, so no Mari he should get over it'. Mari wanted to say that she was selfish but she knew there was truth in her words, Jason would be more heart broken if they dated and she didn't feel anything for him.
Jason sighed and ruffled his hair " I was thinking maybe if your free tommorow we could go out together"
"I'm busy I have tons of homework to do", Alex said eyes still glued to her phone " ouch what the heck Mari" Alex clutch her left knee cap shooting daggers at Mari who simply just rose her eyebrow saying 'what homework'
"Oh... I guess next time then", said Jason the disappointed evident in his voice. The girls pitted him, still confused on why he keeps having this same conversation with Alex knowing the reply instead of looking for his mate since he turned eighteen last month. I guess he really believed in
'never give up'.
Alex let out a heavy sigh, she was really tired of the same conversation "I guess I will be free at five tomorrow", she said stopping Jason in his retreating form as the girls snapped their necks to her.
"Wait really", Jason asked stunned like the rest of them
"Yes Jason I will go out with you tommorow", she replied
"Wow" he was still stunned and rooted to the ground staring at Alex, clearly trying to know if the words that came out of her mouth were real, well it is a first.
"Oh my gawd Jason she said yes do you want her to change her mind", said hannah making the girls chuckle
"Right", he drawled but was still rooted to the spot.
"Dude seriously your like a living statue", a new voice chuckled it was deep "hey babe" said noah walking towards mari and pecking her cheek.
"Hi noah", she couldn't keep her face from warming up. Her and noah have been together for five months now despite him being a jerk and flirt before, but she couldn't help but have feelings for him when his so sweet to her. Sometimes she wonder if it's only because of the mate bond that makes her attracted to him and not just her.
"Soooo....remember you promised to bake my favorite vanilla cake", he whispered and she rolled her eyes but still had a small smile.
"I think I left it on the kitchen counter", she said feigning gasp and he pouted making her giggle
"I didn't forget silly", she said bringing a wrapped box out of her bag and his eyes lit up with excitement
"I love you", he said pecking her on the forehead
"Awww", liv, hannah and cleo said in unison making Mari's face resemble a tomato while Alex just scrunch her nose in disgust
"Shut up", she hissed at them but they just giggled and her face became much redder when cleo rose her eyebrows suggestively.
This is why she preferred Alex, she doesn't tease her about her love life but anything than that she does. It was as if Alex is allergic to the word love.
"Come on dude, you will be late for hockey practice", said Noah dragging Jason away, he is Jason beta.
Since there school was located so close to the north it was usually snowing, so the participated in hockey and ice skating more as sport. And their school was the best among other schools in crescent fall mainly because it was filled with supernaturals and sometimes they use their strength and hyper motility which is definitely cheating but they still win.
Crescent high is also the oldest school among others and was the only school before the humans started building others.
Even with them taking the cup home sometimes, Mari hardly went to support her boyfriend she deemed the sport to rough for her liking.
The bell rung for end of today's lesson and the girls started packing up well everyone expect Alex, she's smart if not the smartest student in school but the girl was really lazy.
"Al", Mari yelled
"Wait just one more game....Mari", Alex yelled at her friend for snatching her phone.
Mari just rose her eyes daring her "fine" Alex scoffed shoving her books inside her bag and getting up
"Good", Mari said giving her back her phone "so are you guys free today", she asked as they left the classroom to the crowded hallway.
"I have to take my brother for his violin lesson", said Liv checking her time.
"And am still helping mom with her new...." Hannah paused giving a quick glance at Alex who was still on her phone "am still helping her arranged the study" she said, the rest knew it was a lie and also knew she wanted to say new potion but Alex presence made her not too. Hannah mom was one of the best witches in town and the present leader of starlight coven. She works as a surgeon in the town's hospital to pass time.
"Well am free, my brothers are going to be home" said Cleo grimacing picturing her two elder brothers lounging on the couch with only their boxers playing video games with snacks wraps all over the floor. Their twins and senior her with a year.
"And Alex over here is always free", said Mari bumping her hips to her and raise her eyebrow "so what's the occasion what made you to accept Jason offer", she asked and all eyes were on Alex awaiting her answer.
Alex shrugged with nonchalance "hmm probably because an annoying brunette kept bugging me with the stink eye", she said making Mari giggle.
"Oh come on Al he's really cute many girls would wish to be in your shoes", said Mari
Alex just looked at her with a bored expression giving 'do I look like I want to be in their shoes'.
"Fine but just go out with him tommorow, who knows maybe you will start catching feelings", said Mari wiggling her eyebrows with a smirk
Alex scrunched her nose at her.
"Well I better get going that boy is trouble when you come late to pick him up", said Liv about to leave when a chirpy voice cut through the air.
"Hey girls", said a purely white haired with the same shade of green eyes as Alex, clad with all white shirt, leggings and coat with a golden pendent that shined.
She was perfect too perfect.
The girls groaned in unison at the sight of the lively girl except for Alex who rolled her eyes at her twin everyday euthusiam, she was use to it except others.
The girls didn't hate Arielle, she wasn't rude, bossy or proud despite her beauty like some girls in school she was nice, kind too kind and optimistic, which people hated cause she made them feel like sinners with her righteous ways, but that was her nature. Just like alex she was really beautiful, the twins had the beauty of a goddess. They were identical only thing differentiating them is the colour of their hair and attitude, while Alex is lazy and easily bored, Arielle was energetic and always happy.
"Hi Arielle", they said in unison as she took her sisters bag and rummaged through it.
Arielle gasped and looked offended at her sister "you finished the whole chocolate", she said at the brim of tears.
"Well is mine and I was hungry", Alex said with a shrug.
"But..but ..not fair", Ari said and took the car keys from her sister bag and turned around to the exist
"You can't even start a car", Alex yelled after her retreating figure.
"Yes I can", Ari face burned from embarrassment as students in the hallway stopped to look at her and laugh.
They all went to the parking lot, Liv followed Hannah to her black camry, while the rest with Arielle entered Alex ash range hover to the paris estate.
