Chapter two:
I walked into the tutor, needing to do my history homework. I had spent the weekend learning my super speed. I had gotten to the point where I couldn't run anymore. I reached super speed before I even started running.
"Morning Toby." I said.
"Morning Travis. How was your match on Sunday?" He said. My eyes widened when he said that.
"Shit. I completely forgot about it." I said. Luke then laughed at me.
"Tom's gonna kill you." Luke joked.
"Not if I run away from him." I winked at him, and walked towards my tutor's desk.
"Good morning, Miss Ali. Would it be alright if I went to the library this morning? I've got some work to do for my second lesson." I asked.
"Sure. Have you done my poetry work for tomorrow?" She replied.
"Erm, I'll do it tonight." I said and Miss Ali laughed at me.
"Go on, get to the library." She replied.
I was working in the library when I was distracted by someone charging down the stairs. Low and behold, it was Thomas Jones.
"Shit." I said to myself.
"Travis! I'm going to kill you!" He started running towards me. I couldn't do anything or else my super speed would be exposed. I stood up and let him charge at me. I then moved out of the way at the last second, only because of my reflexes. I was able to dodge all of his punches and kicks. I limboed under his swing, and punching his stomach with my left hand. He then fell onto the floor, and I grabbed my bag, and left the library. I then went to the playground and ran home.
"You're home early." My mom said.
"Yeah, I don't feel too good. You should probably call them, to make sure that they know." I went straight to my room, and laid down on my bed. I then turned on the TV and saw that the news was on.
(A mysterious white blur spotted in Metropolis. Attached was a speed camera photo of me running between two cars.)
"2532 mph? That's a lie, I can at least run faster than the speed of sound." I said to myself.
The Justice League's watchtower was in flight above Metropolis and their main principle was to protect Earth. Martian Manhunter was in the bridge of the watchtower when Aquaman had some information for him.
"There's, there's been a mysterious white blur spotted in Metropolis." Aquaman handed him a tablet, which had a news article open on it. "To me, the shape of the blur resembles a human. And it, was recorded to be moving 2532 miles per hour." Martian Manhunter tilted his head towards Aquaman.
"A human, who can run at 2000 miles per hour?" Martian Manhunter questioned.
"2532, but yes. It's quite remarkable. We can try to get an enhanced image if you like." Aquaman said and Martian Manhunter nodded his head and left his office.
He then sat as his desk, and pulled a file out of his drawers. He placed it on his desk, and stared at the front of it. The Justice League.
After a while, Aquaman returned to Superman's office. He looked down at the file, then back up at Martian Manhunter's before handing him the tablet.
"That's the enhanced image. It does appear to be a human running." Aquaman explained.
"Do we have an identification on who it is?" Martian Manhunter asked.
"Yes. It was quite hard, considering he's in Metropolis, but it's Travis LaRowe. 16 years old. Born May 3rd 1997." Aquaman explained, whilst Martian Manhunter nodded at him.
"I noticed you've got the Juice League out. Would you like me to organize a jet to Metropolis?" Said Aquaman.
"I'll visit him myself." Replied Martian Manhunter.
(One week later.)
I was walking through town inside of a subway station. Metropolis is one of the richest cities in the United States. The city was quite busy, and I was walking inside of the subway and a train was going along the track.
There was an explosion from above, so I stopped to turn around and looked at the track. The train was coming off the tracks, directly for me. I turned around, and started clearing a path for the train, so no one would get hurt. I zigzagged between pavements, pulling people to a safe distance. There was a loud thud, followed by a loud screeching as the train hit the ground. I watched as the train dragged itself across the ground, slowly coming to a halt. A young child started crossing the subway, the train was about to hit her. I ran towards her, scooped her up, and gave her back to her mother. The train then stopped.
I tried to open the door, but it was locked. I smashed the window and opened the down from the inside. The driver was slumped over the controls, dead. I walked into the carriage, to see thirty or so scared faces looking at me.
"Is everyone alright?" There was no response, but a middle aged man chuckled to himself. I looked at him funny.
"No. Everyone is not alright." He looked down at his watch. "Because, in approximately 55 seconds, this train will be blown up. There is a bomb in my bag." 55 seconds. I immediately reached for the bag, and pulled out the bomb. It was for propane gas canisters with intricate wiring around it.
"The bomb is going to kill you as well." I said.
"Yes, but it will also kill everyone else." He replied.
"No if I dispose of it." I smirked at him.
"30 seconds, you don't have enough time. You'll die as well." He said.
"Then I'll see you in Hell." I ran out of the train, and headed straight for the Gotham river. There was a helicopter flying directly above me. I got to the Gotham river, and suddenly stopped. I then looked at the bomb 5 seconds left. I threw the bomb into the Gotham river, and watched as it blew up, causing a pillar of water to shoot in the sky. I then sat down on the grass, and my heart was beating extremely fast.
"Just in time." Someone said from behind me.
