The only thing I could remember is the fear in their faces the moment when they heard the screaming pain of someone getting brutally killed for failing the mission assigned by that system. It was the day I could never forget— neither did they forget the bloodcurdling scream.
I was in tenth grade when this happened— only at the age of 15. Everything was confusing but at the same time, it scared me. It scared me what will happen to me.. Or my family.
It didn't take long for me to realize that we were nothing but a simple toy used for entertainment. Used to entertain the Aliens that used the system to watch us humans suffer.
"But all of that is in the past now.. Isn't it Simon..?"
I whispered his name before glancing towards his direction. It had already been 8 years since this apocalypse began. He averted his gaze towards the sunset, placing his hands on his pockets.
I sighed after noticing he didn't respond. I took a step away from Simon, placing my hands on my pockets. "Be careful with your mission, Kierra."
I heard Simon speak, making me turn my head. I smiled after hearing his words. "I will, thank you for caring."
I replied, my words trailing off as I walk away from Simon. 'When did this began?' I thought to myself before remembering things. 'Ah right.. February 2, 2178. Three days before my.. 16th birthday..'
