"What did you say?"
This man is blatantly threatening her!
Lily Turner couldn't believe what she had just heard. In broad daylight, should she really fear those shady people from the Dark Empire?
Unaware, Luke Crowe thought Lily hadn't heard him clearly, so he raised his voice and repeated, "You'd better not ask, or you'll be in danger, and it's life-threatening."
He admitted that he said this to scare her, to deter her from trying to inquire about his boss. His boss wasn't someone that just any woman could think about casually.
Life-threatening?!
Is this man from the past? Does he not know it's a society governed by law now?
Lily Turner rolled her eyes internally at Luke Crowe. Although she was angry at what the man said, she wasn't in the mood to argue with him. She couldn't make this lawless man understand, but someday someone would make sure he understood the law.
"Go back and tell your boss that I won't take this house." She didn't want any more entanglements with the man from last night. She'd better stay as far away from that kind of man as possible, lest one day she really loses her life.
After calming down, Lily Turner informed Luke Crowe, who was standing at the door, of her final decision.
"Miss Turner! You should still take it; otherwise, I won't be able to report back." This was a task his boss assigned him to complete, and if he couldn't complete it, he'd definitely be punished when he returned. As for what kind of punishment, he'd find out later. His boss never forewarned him. Luke Crowe looked troubled.
Upon seeing this, Lily Turner frowned beautifully, "Just go back and tell him that I absolutely won't take it, and I appreciate his kindness."
Appreciate his kindness? She really wanted to cripple him right now.
Last night, he forced himself on her despite her resistance, and now he was using this dilapidated house to humiliate her. Because he has the backing of a dark force, does he think he can trample on others' dignity at will?
In an office somewhere, a certain man reading military materials suddenly felt an unexplainable twitch in his eyelid. He raised his hand to rub it and, without thinking much, got back into his serious work.
"Miss Turner! Our boss said that he has no intention of taking back what he sent out. If you refuse to accept it, he'll have me send the property's transfer documents directly to your company." This wasn't something Luke Crowe made up; it was Easton Holmes' specific instruction before he came.
Upon hearing these words, he thought his boss was overdoing it; who would refuse something given for free? Looking at the current situation, his boss's foresight was indeed impressive.
Hearing what Luke Crowe said, Lily Turner was so angry she wanted to hit someone. But thinking about how the man in front of her was just following orders, she forcibly suppressed the impulse to strike.
"Aren't you taking this too far?" Sending the transfer documents to her company? Isn't this blatantly threatening her?
How could she be so unlucky? Yesterday, she was betrayed by her fiancé and best friend, and today she encountered this situation.
Lily Turner now felt no one could be more unlucky than she was. Taking a deep breath to calm herself, she lifted her delicate finger, "I'll accept what you have in your hand. You can go back and report."
