Lena woke the next morning with Dom's words still replaying in her mind. "You're enough." She tucked the memory against her heart like a precious secret, letting it pulse warmth through her chest as she dressed for the day. It should have been enough to anchor her, to make her feel secure against the mounting doubts, but the unease wouldn't leave her. There was a tension humming in the air, as if the entire pack was holding its breath.
Dom had left early, called away by an urgent breach at the southern border. Lena had seen the tightness in his jaw when he spoke of it, the shadow flickering through his eyes that he hadn't explained. She hadn't pressed. Part of her wished she had.
