Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Prelude to Chaos - Hisoka Morow vs. Shogo Makishima

The screen glitched, static dancing across its surface like an omen. Then, a shadowy symbol appeared—an ever-turning wheel with an eye in the center. The crowd hushed, multiversal winds whispering in anticipation.

"Next Battle: Hisoka Morow vs. Shogo Makishima. Prepare yourselves, for your fate has been sealed."

Hisoka Morow – The Sadistic Magician

Hisoka was not a man born of tragedy or righteous purpose. He was born for chaos. A jester who found joy not in saving lives, but in pushing them to their limits, Hisoka's obsession with strength molded his entire identity.

He first appeared in the dark underworld of the Hunter x Hunter universe, participating in the grueling Hunter Exam. His abilities—most notably his Nen ability, Bungee Gum (which has the properties of both rubber and gum)—were versatile, unpredictable, and deadly in the hands of a creative mind.

Hisoka was more than a fighter. He was an artist of battle, viewing every confrontation as an elaborate performance. He delighted in strong opponents and saw death as the ultimate climax to a fight well done. His past remains shrouded in mystery, with no known origin, no real family, and no moral compass. His power grew through countless battles, experimentation, and his relentless desire to confront and kill anyone he deemed "worthy."

Unlike those who sought strength for protection, vengeance, or duty, Hisoka pursued it for pleasure. Each bruise, each close call, each spilled drop of blood fed his euphoria.

Shogo Makishima – The Anarchist Philosopher

Born in a dystopian society ruled by the Sybil System—a mechanism that monitored psychological states to pre-judge criminality—Shogo Makishima stood as the ultimate rejection of control.

Makishima was a rare anomaly. Despite his heinous crimes and complete disregard for human life, the system could not detect him as a threat. His "Crime Coefficient" remained below detection, rendering him invisible to justice. This anomaly granted him the freedom to question, manipulate, and eventually revolt against the totalitarian regime.

A lover of classical literature and ancient philosophy, Shogo believed that a life without free will was worse than death. He manipulated others with poetic language, triggering their darkest impulses while remaining emotionally detached. His strength was not in physical prowess, but in ideological dominance and strategic cruelty.

His fight against Sybil wasn't to save people, but to destroy the illusion of peace built on absolute control. His strength came from psychological mastery, a sharp intellect, and the rare ability to override the mechanisms governing his world. He was both rebel and executioner.

Opponent Interactions

As the screen faded to black, both contenders were transported into the pre-battle hall. Dim lighting, mirrored walls, and a clock counting down hung above.

Hisoka licked his lips. "You're beautiful in your convictions, Makishima-kun. I wonder how you'll scream."

Makishima tilted his head slightly. "I doubt you understand beauty, Hisoka. But I do look forward to watching you unravel."

"So serious," Hisoka chuckled. "What would you ask for, once you win?"

Makishima turned, calm as ever. "Just a world that doesn't define me."

"And I," Hisoka whispered, "just want to dance forever."

They walked opposite directions, their footsteps echoing like war drums.

Universe Reactions Continue

The arena had yet to be revealed. But the stage was set. Not for a battle of muscles or even magic.

But of ideologies, madness, and manipulation.

The Multiverse held its breath.
