She sighs to herself, the chief rabbit had been very kind, but she was still stressed through the entire conversation. Nothing had gone wrong; she had been given an Obsidian badge which had a I on it, indicating her Tier. She stored it in her storage space.
Weeks flew by, and soon the first Obsidian mission popped up, there were five slots, and she got the first. It filled up in the next few minutes.
She looks at the job description.
This is a hard Obsidian mission; your task is to slay the Cloud-Jumping Wyvern terrorizing the inner-cities. A smaller group of Obsidians has already been wiped out by the Wyvern, they were from the inner-city so aren't as powerful individually, nevertheless you will be accompanied by an Overseer, who is simply there to ensure no one dies. They will not complete the mission for you, and if you fail to do so you will be simply extracted. The Wyvern will be left until the mission requirements are either increased or handed to the first Mage. The location of the Wyvern is known, it is within the Evergreen Forest, where wildlife has been wiped out. An easy mission will be given to Platinum's after mission completion to re-inhabit the Forest. Meet with your party at Coldsaw village, a small village a few miles away from the Forest, and has only been kept safe by the two would-be-Obsidian villagers who manage to fend it off. Leave immediately.
The job description was quite informative, and she was surprised. She hadn't heard of an Overseer in a job before, so it couldn't be a common occurrence. It also had some information not really related to the mission, which she thought was interesting. And there was a slight dig at the kingdom, suggesting that their obsidians weren't as strong as the Guild's, which was probably true.
It also seemed it was quite an urgent mission, as they were supposed to leave straight away which she had no problem doing. At Diamond-level strength, you could fly, at Obsidian-level, you could fly much faster. And at her strength, she could arrive at the village within a few hours.

A few hours later, she had arrived at the village. Contrary to what she had expected she wasn't the first to arrive despite leaving immediately. There were three others, one a tall, skinny man with messy dark hair, unkempt and in disarray, he had strong facial features and blue eyes, he already had a small grin on his face.
The second was a girl, quite tall but not taller than her. Her hair was long and perfectly straight, it was a shade between blonde and brown, hard to tell. Her eyebrows were dark, and she too was attractive.
The third was a tall, muscular man, a small smirk on his full lips, his hair that seemed to alternate between blonde and brown, short and messy, he rubs the back of his head awkwardly, his hand flowing through the slightly longer hair that was on the back of his head. It seemed to be styled this way purposefully, the top and back of his hair was slightly longer than the sides.
His striking hazel eyes were on her.
"Welcome, we're still waiting for the rest." He says.
"Aren't you too strong to do this mission?" She asks.
Dorian looks back at her confusedly, "I'm not, didn't the mission description explain it?"
Quick realisation dawns on her, and a shade of pink appears on her cheeks as she replies embarrassedly, "Oh, right. Overseer."
"Yeah, hopefully I won't be needed. But it's hard to gauge the power-level of the Wyvern. We don't have many Guild members out here and we haven't been given much time to scout – they threw this mission on us after their Obsidians were wiped out."
"All of them?" She asks.
"No, just three. They sent a party of three Obsidians."
"Got to be pretty strong then."
"Yeah, so that's why we've got five plus an Overseer just in case it's more powerful than we anticipated."
About a half hour later, the fourth person appears. It's a short woman with blonde hair. She lands quite close to Dorian.
"Hi!" She beams at everyone else, then she turns to Isabel, her smile not fading, "You're the new girl then?"
She nods, "Yes, first mission."
Abigail whistles, "Quite the one to start on, we rarely ever get an Overseer."
"Hopefully he's not needed."
She nods, "Yeah, if he has to interfere it doesn't contribute to our Tier, that would suck…. I'm Abigail by the way." She sticks out a hand.
Isabel shakes her hand, "I'm Isabel."
Dorian cuts in, "Alright, let's get going."
"Aren't we waiting for one more?" Isabel asks.
"Oh, Argon? He was sent to the forest to scout it out, figure out where the Wyvern is, save us some time."
"Oh, right." Isabel mumbles.
They launch into the air as a group, and as they're flying to the forest a few minutes away, she finds herself next to Damian, who grins at her.
"Hey, Isabel, right? I'm Damian." He introduces himself.
"I'm Isa- I mean, nice to meet you." She stutters, a little embarrassed.
He laughs, "Don't be nervous, there's nothing out here that can beat Dorian, we're in safe hands."
She hadn't been nervous about the upcoming fight, but more nervous about the handsome face that was looking down at her.
She smiles and nods, obviously not correcting his assumption, it was better than the truth.
But something from his statement stuck out to her, nothing out here that can beat Dorian. Was he implying that there was a place where creatures or people more powerful than Dorian existed?
The thought terrified her.
