Liu Yan was now 5 years old, having just celebrated his birthday a few days ago. So far, he still had not met the main character of Soul Land, Liu Yan wondered if Tang San was as handsome as depicted in the anime and manhwa.
Today, he was allowed to accompany his father, Wei Jun on a hunting trip near the back of the mountain of the village. As they headed there, "Remember, Liu Yan, if you meet any danger while I'm not around, just run. What's important is your safety, okay?" said Wei Jun cautiously to Liu Yan. "Dad, how can you say that? Don't try and jinx us!" said Liu Yan to his dad with a little shock that a dad would say that to their 5 year old son.
Inside the forests at the back of the mountain, Liu Yan was learning how to use a weapon and kill a boar, it was the only way he could learn how to temper his body in a fight. As Liu Yan and Wei Jun got closer and closer, the supposedly unsuspecting boar looked at them and charged directly at them, breaking a tall tree and causing it to fall. Wei Jun and Liu Yan jumped to the side, "Why is this wild boar so strong?!" screamed Liu Yan as he readied his hunting bow.
Liu Yan drew his bow and breathed deeply, aiming straight at the boar's eyes and nostrils.

The arrow flew straight at its eyes, but what happened was something they never encountered. The boar suddenly charged straight to the arrow, lowering its head and encased it's skin in soul power, charging through and breaking the arrow. Liu Yan fell and couldn't move, he was scared stiff. Suddenly, a figure jumps out and threw a small knife straight at the boar, with precision, piercing through its left eye, and through its right.
As Liu Yan stood up slowly and shakily, he looked to the figure. "Short dark blue hair, and dark blue eyes... this was Tang San!" thought Liu Yan as he recognized the figure as the main character of Soul Land. "So he's as handsome as the original depicted... interesting" thought Liu Yan. "Ah, thank you Xiao San. I never thought i would be saved by a child before, I guess there's a first for everything. What are you doing here? How is your dad" said Wei Jun
"Dad is doing fine, just a bit tired as usual." replied Tang San as he went to the boar and took back his knife, cleaning off the blood with his thick sleeves. Suddenly, small white orbs of energy flew out of the boar's energy, circling and forming a white soul ring. "A soul ring?!, why would there be a soul beast here... Thankfully it was a decade level one." said Wei Jun in shock. Tang San and Liu Yan watched as the soul ring soon fades into nothingness.
"Can you people keep it down? I'm trying to sleep over here" suddenly spoke a voice from behind one of the trees. Soon walked out... "Huh?? Who is this guy? I don't remember him in the original story!" thought Liu Yan. "Xiao Tian, what are you doing here? Its dangerous here. Both you and Tang San shouldn't be here without one of your parents. Go back." warned Wei Jun as he suddenly remembered the fact that two 5 years old that weren't accompanied by their parents were hiding in the back of the mountain.
Night soon arrived as Wei Jun and Liu Yan made their way back with the meat from the boar. "Honey, we're back!" yelled Wei Jun towards the inside of the house. Liu Yan walked to his room, deep in thought. "Who was that light yellow haired kid... I don't remember anyone that stands out like that. Dad, seems to know him, maybe I can ask him"
After dinner, Liu Yan approached his dad "Dad, do you who that light yellow haired kid earlier at the back of the mountain?" asked Liu Yan. "Oh, that was Fu Tian, he lives just a few house away." answered Wei Jun.
"Why have I never seen him before??" asked Liu Yan. "Because other than hunting with me and reading books all day, you've never done anything else. Tomorrow, you'll be going to socialize, okay?" said Mei Ling who just entered the room. "Okay, mom." said Liu Yan with reluctance.
Liu Yan laid on his bed late into the night, "Whatever, stop thinking about that kid. I can't wait until I turn six, I hope I get a powerful martial soul!"
