# Chapter 12 On the Edge
"Young miss you knew this is a pointless attempt just come back with us and hand over the stolen book." One of the 4 men covered in black fur clearly he doesn't want to be recognized.
The young girl shuddered but she glanced back in so much venomous hatred in her eyes that it startled the four man. It also destroyed that innocent figure in Oak's eyes.
'Jesus is this how those jade beauties in those novels are really like?' Oak unconsciously put up his guard to not get deceived in the future.
"You all are bastards that schemed against my mom. So you can fuck off and die." The young girl uttered those words with ice cold hatred. This caused the men pressing her to narrow there eyes and have a faint scent of killing intent in there form.
Suddenly one of them accelerated wanting to kill her fast a knife suddenly appeared near her neck and another in the mans hand. But there was no panic just a ice cold look as the book suddenly activated and a magic seal appeared protecting here and completely freezing the man his life and death unknown. And both groups came to a sudden drop.
"Young miss you should know that the great eldress was like family to the Fieldwater village. Why make her legacy so murky?" The man said this with a smile but his high guard and reaching for sword in his back said what he was actually thinking.
"You little bastards are a bunch of backstabbers don't think I don't know what you did." Suddenly she started to scream and put on a innocent expression. This startled the men but they merely looked annoyed.
"Oh please you brat no one is coming here in this deep of the Beginning Forest by accident."
"Ya your black heart is going to repulse all good people like a fucking corpse flower." A few more insults were thrown and at there lowest point of guard against the surroundings.
Oak took control of all the plants in the surroundings subtlety and at there closest point of a few feet of the groups he stabbed at them with qi infused tree roots.
This application of his ability was discovered through trial and error. It's basic premise is to fully utilize the Qi in the plant with a mixture of his own. While igniting the plants Qi and biological material via his own Qi to enhance its power.
Sufficient to say it was extremely deadly and effective. But these warriors weren't you just average hill Billy. As they moved with speed and dexterity as they dogged. Suffering only minor wounds. But Oak was prepared for this and small grass and sticks like spikes small and virtually unnoticeable pierced there skin with Oaks personal concoction of poisons. There bodies reactions were nearly immediate as they yelled in pain and collapsed to the ground.
There bodies rapidly turned black with white and blue spots as they slowly collapsed but the one with the sword must have had a extremely tuff body. As he was able to fight a little bit longer. But before Oak could observe more reactions of his extreme dose of poison that was the combination of 200,000 different mortal grade plants and blood of super soldier animals. They were swiftly killed by the girl.
Oak slowly walked out of the forest his face covered by a wooden mask. With cloth and animal skin tastefully covering his body leaving no exposed skin while his long brown hair was cut extremely short and covered. Only his green eyes were exposed. Oak and the girl stared at each other she already put on the innocent expression and Oak didn't care enough to bring up that switch in attitude.
"What's the book?" Oak said with an emotionless voice. His eyes contained some killing intent to show his position.
"It's a book that contains the cultivation and some spells of the super realm." The girl nervously said slightly shaking.
"I would to read this book we will have to forget about soul oath first." Oak said as he held out his hand with a drop of blood. This clearly throw a wrench in whatever she was planning as her eyes narrowed for a second before returning to normal.
She bit her pinky and they both laid out there terms.
"I merely want to read and store the knowledge of that book after this you can take that book and go somewhere else. We will neither try to harm or purposely cause problems for each other." Oak said slowly.
"I can agree with those terms as long as I can get a favor from you." The girl added.
"No you will not i just saved your life or more accurately saved you from a fate worse then that. I have no desire to help you or interact with you beyond this point. So unless you want to see who walks away from this alive you better agree." Oak said slowly while his eyes were trained on her. The young girl shuddered in fear but Oak knew that was fake and even found it funny.
'If worse comes to worse i while just run away maybe poison her and let her village chase her to the ends of the earth.' After 5 minutes of her trying to get something sneaky they both agreed with the soul oath. To only the minds of them a clear bell sound was heard and they felt a ripple in both there souls.
The girl quickly opened up her book and dropped a blood drop on it unlocking. Oak flicked his hand and a root grabbed the book and brought it over. Oak then glanced through it and narrowed his eyes. He quickly found out that this book was clearly Qi in origin as the book had nearly 506,902 pages inside it with a weird spatial feeling to it.
Thinking he glanced at the bodies and noticed a ring on the sword welding man. He willed a root to pick up the ring and quickly looked it over.
'A space ring? How lucky I never managed to get this in my old village.' He quickly dominated this ring skillfully with his Qi as his control was superb. Then he glanced at a tree turned the book to its first page and flicked his hand the tree rapidly was turned into paper around the size of A4 paper. Then he quickly wrote down the information word by word to study them in private later.
The girl thinking that Oak couldn't see her sneered. Oak noticed this but didn't care. From his estimation it would take 30 minutes to complete. Of course if anyone in this world heard this they would laugh at him. But because of his long hours of making potions his enhanced control of nature and the months long practice of his abilities, his mental age of being over 67 before he died, his career of being a biochemist, and this body's training he competed in task in 40 minutes to the girls shocked expression.
He stored over 40 book that chopped down 23 trees to make in his newly aquired space ring. Then he glanced at the shocked girl and left his form merging with the forest.
"Auntie?" A ring on her left hand that looked ordinary. Flashed pink and a beautiful woman appeared. Her beautiful far outclassed any woman on earth and perhaps even this whole plain.
"Who ever that was is not important on the emerald fields people like that are a dime a dozen. This lower realm is a waste in terms of resource and talent is hard to come by here as well so ignore them and continue on your journey.
That brat only saw surface level information about the super realm not even any cultivation techniques." The woman coldly uttered and vanished the girl breathed out and left.
