Chapter 14 - Past Memories.

As the weeks passed, the students at Ravenswood boarding school settled into their routine, with studies and activities continuing as usual. But as the fourth week approached, excitement began to build as everyone prepared for Visiting Day, which fell on the first two days of the new month.

The students eagerly anticipated reuniting with their loved ones and family members, whom they hadn't seen in a long time. The strict boarding school rules prohibited phone use, making Visiting Day the only chance for face-to-face communication.

In the classroom, during recess, a group of students chatted enthusiastically about the upcoming Visiting Day. One girl, in particular, stood out, boasting about her family's wealth.

"My parents are going to come in their brand new Audi Q7," she said, a smug smile spreading across her face. "And they're going to bring so much food, you won't believe it. We're talking lobster, steak, the works!"

Her friend looked on, impressed. "Wow, that sounds amazing! I'm sure your parents are really successful."

The girl nodded, her smile growing even wider. "Oh, they're more than successful. They're millionaires. They own a huge house, and a yacht!"

Other students joined in, sharing stories of their own families' wealth. "My dad just bought a new Porsche," one said. "And my mom's diamond necklace is worth a fortune!"

But Valeria, sitting nearby, rolled her eyes. She knew her family's wealth far surpassed theirs. Her family was a million times richer than all their families combined. But she didn't engage in the conversation, choosing instead to sit quietly, her disinterest evident on her face.

As the conversation continued, Valeria's mind wandered, her thoughts consumed by her own doubts and worries about Visiting Day. It had been a while since she heard from them, her own family.

Despite their immense wealth, she had received no response to the letters she wrote to them, leaving her uncertain about whether anyone would visit her at all.

However, Rachael was much more excited for Visiting Day. Her enthusiasm for Visiting Day was rooted in her difficult past and her longing for family connection.

Her family had always struggled to make ends meet, but they had always been rich in love and support. Her parents, John and Vivianne, had worked tirelessly to provide for their two daughters, Rachael and Rehab. But when Rehab got the opportunity to pursue higher education, they had to make a difficult choice - send Rehab to school and leave Rachael to work and support the family.

Rachael, determined to make a better life for herself, decided to leave her small town and move to the big city with her boyfriend, Alex. They promised each other a brighter future, full of hope and opportunity.

"I'll get a good job, and we'll start fresh," Alex said, his eyes shining with excitement.

"I'll work hard too," Rachael replied, her heart full of dreams. "We'll build a life together."

But the city was unforgiving, and the reality of their situation soon hit them hard.

Alex struggled to find a job, and Rachael's wages were barely enough to cover their rent. The stress took a toll on their relationship, and Alex began to stray.

One day, Rachael caught him cheating on her, her heart shattering into a million pieces. When she asked him about it, he admitted it immediately without caring about how she felt.

"How could you, Alex?" she sobbed, her world crashing down around her.
