Chapter 19 - Catch up.

"Desmond, my son," Leonardo Salvadore boomed, his voice carrying across the room, his eyes gleaming with pride and a hint of warmth. "Welcome home. I trust your trip to Tyko was successful?"

Desmond smiled, his fangs gleaming in the light, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "It was, Father. I took care of the matter swiftly and efficiently. The Kurosawa clan won't be bothering us again anytime soon."

Leonardo nodded, his eyes gleaming with approval. "I expected as much. You've always been a capable and fierce protector of our family's interests. Your mother and I are proud of you, Desmond."

Mariana Salvadore joined them, her eyes shining with warmth, her raven hair styled in an elegant updo. "Desmond, dear, it's so good to have you home. We've missed you. And Lucas, it's wonderful to see you again. How was your trip?"

Desmond's smile softened, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "It was long, but worth it, Mother. And Lucas was a valuable asset, as always."

Desmond was known for his sharp wit and playful teasing, but he was also fiercely intelligent and formidable when it came to serious matters. As the firstborn son of Leonardo and Mariana Salvadore, he had been raised with a strong sense of tradition and duty.

The Salvadore family had a long history of training their children in British aristocratic etiquette and combat techniques from a young age, and both Desmond and his sister Valeria had honed their skills to protect themselves as pure-blooded vampires.

As they conversed, Leonardo mentioned that he had sent Valeria to boarding school in England to safeguard her from their pursuers. Desmond was surprised, having thought his father had been joking about sending her away.

Despite their occasional sibling squabbles, Desmond adored his sister and cherished their bond. They had shared countless adventures and parties together. And now, Leonardo tasked Desmond with visiting Valeria on Visiting Day at Ravenswood.

"Desmond, we sent Valeria to boarding school to protect her from those who seek to harm our family." Leonardo informed him.

"Boarding school? You mean like a human school? Ha! I can't believe it. My sister, a vampire, learning how to be a human." Desmond quipped.

"Desmond, it's not a joke. We had to get her out of here, away from the danger that's lurking around every corner.", Mariana added sounding concerned.

"I know, Mother. I'm just surprised you actually went through with it. I thought Father was just bluffing when he said he'd send her away."

"I was not bluffing, Desmond. I will do whatever it takes to keep our family safe. And right now, that means getting Valeria out of the city.", Leonardo continued.

Desmond: "I understand. But it's still hard to believe sister is gone. I miss her already."

Mariana: "We all do, Desmond. But we need you to go visit her in our behalf. She needs to know we're thinking of her, and that we love her."

"Yes, Desmond. Will you go visit your sister for us? It would mean a lot to her, and to us.", Leonardo tasked his son.

"Of course, I'll go. I'll make sure she's doing well and that she knows we care about her."

Desmond accepted the task with enthusiasm.

As Desmond and Lucas exited the mansion, Desmond called his assistant to prepare for his trip to Ravenswood.
