Everyone turned their heads as they recognized the voice, their eyes fixed on the speaker with a mix of surprise and curiosity. Mara's expression changed from shock to delight as she grinned from ear to ear, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She ran towards the speaker, her long legs striding across the room, and practically threw herself at him.
"Jake!" she squealed, her voice high-pitched and enthusiastic. "What are you doing here?"
Jake smiled and hugged her putting his arm on her waist as he kissed her on the cheek. Then his eyes narrowed as his gaze fell on Valeria, his face twisted in a snarl. "This girl has been causing so much trouble, Mara," he said, his voice low and menacing. "And we need to teach her a lesson so she stops being arrogant.", he remembered when Valeria had kicked him so hard on the floor and his eyes grew with hatred.
Mara's eyes sparkled with excitement as she nodded in agreement. "Oh, Jake, I totally agree!" she said, her voice dripping with enthusiasm. "She needs to be taken down a notch."
Valeria's eyes flashed with anger, and her lips pressed together in a thin line. "I have warned you already, Jake," she said, her voice cold and detached. "Don't mess with me unless you want to suffer the consequences. What I did last time was only child's play compared to what I'll do if you cross the line this time", Valeria said with little to no hesitation.
Then the crowd began to chant, "Teach her a lesson! Teach her a lesson!" as they egged Mara on, their voices growing louder and more menacing as they flared at Valeria. Juliet's eyes widened in alarm as she grabbed her arm, her grip tight and urgent.
"Valeria, let's get out of here before things get worse!" she whispered, her voice trembling with fear.
But Valeria stood her ground, her eyes blazing with defiance. "I'm not going anywhere," she said, her voice firm and resolute. "I'm not afraid of them."
