"Sorry..."
The word behind it had not yet been spoken when Lily Turner saw the man walk to the side.
The man lowered his head, making it difficult to discern the expression on his face. The slanting light outlined the hard lines of half his face.
His eyebrows were thick, slightly furrowed with a hint of impatience. Under the light, his straight nose gave off a chilling coldness, and his thin lips formed a cruel curve.
Such appearance and demeanor, at a glance, made one feel sharp.
"Have you seen enough?"
Easton Holmes hated being stared at, especially by unfamiliar women. After coldly throwing out a remark, he turned around, standing with his back to Lily Turner.
At first, Lily Turner felt embarrassed for accidentally bumping into someone, but seeing the man's attitude now, she felt no apology. Instead, it was replaced by displeasure and discontent.
Rolling her eyes at the man's back, the unhappy Lily leaned sideways against the smooth interior wall of the elevator. Her mind was replaying the incident she had just encountered, and the conversation between Henry Thompson and Jenny York echoed in her ears.
Ding!
The elevator arrival bell rang.
Lily Turner snapped out of her daze, and when the elevator doors opened, she rushed out immediately, striding towards the apartment entrance in her high heels.
As she stepped out of the apartment door, she suddenly saw two people standing next to her car, peering into the windows. With sharp eyes, she noticed one of them was holding a camera. Instinctively, she realized she had encountered paparazzi.
She initially chose this place for her marital home to avoid the reporters, but some reporters still found out.
"Lily Turner! It's really Lily Turner!"
A young girl passing by recognized her and exclaimed in delight.
The two journalists who were observing by her car turned around at the sound of the girl's excitement.
Seeing this, Lily Turner immediately turned and quickly walked away. The two journalists immediately lifted their legs to chase after her, "Lily Turner! Wait a minute!"
Hearing someone catching up, Lily Turner instinctively quickened her pace. She didn't want anyone to know about this place before, and she definitely didn't want anyone to know about it now. Once people found out, the affair between her fiancé and her best friend would be exposed.
No way!
She couldn't let those sordid things come to light; it disgusted her too much.
Just as Lily Turner was extremely anxious, she suddenly saw a car not far ahead, its headlights just turning on. She saw hope and ran towards the car, jumping into the back seat just as it was about to drive off.
Because of her hasty entrance, she landed on the person inside the car and in a rather suggestive position.
"Drive, quickly! Thank you!"
Without caring about her current situation, Lily Turner tilted her head and urgently shouted to the driver in the front, not forgetting to say thank you at the end.
Luke Crowe straightened up and looked at the rearview mirror inside the car, wanting to see what the leader sitting in the back meant. However, he only saw a woman lying at the back, and the leader, wasn't he...
"Luke! Stop the car and throw this woman out!" The light shining in from outside allowed Easton Holmes to see clearly that the woman lying on him was Lily Turner, the same woman he had just encountered in the elevator. He immediately pushed her off him with his hand.
